The unique feature of Purapool technology is the combination of oxidizing and ionizing of the water in conjunction with high frequency sonic waves. This combination of technologies is symbiotic. In swimming pool water, where oxidation and disinfection is needed, it is the best technology when considering operational costs, chemical reduction, and environmental impact.
The combination of both oxidation and copper ionization is very effective at killing the bacteria, virus’, algae, and other microorganisms. The residual effect of the copper ions that are in suspension in the water eliminates future microorganism growth, thus even ensuring effective biological control over long periods of inactivity.
The addition of mineral salts into the water is beneficial for your health and well being and produces extra residual protection.
Copper Ionization systems work within a calcium hardness range of 200-300 ppm. Because it converts calcium to bicarbonate, the Copper Ionization will eliminate and prevent calcium scaling on pool walls and water features.
Pool resurfacing and replacement of coping is a significant long-term cost of pool maintenance. Both out-of-balance water and poor use of traditional chemicals eat away at pool surfaces, causing accelerated deterioration and ultimately surface mottling, pitting, and crumbling. This technology assures not only extended life of pool surfaces, but also pool pumps and heater coils.

The Purapool unit features an electronic timer and 100 hour battery backup in case of power failure. This safety mechanism prevents the pump timer sequence from being disrupted.

HOW IT WORKS
Electronic Oxidation:
Through the ultra modern electronic control panel, the Purapool unit applies low amperage, low voltage power across the reverse polarity titanium plates. This produces electrolysis of the water molecules and separates the H²O into hydrogen and oxygen. The free hydrogen and free oxygen molecules, oxidize the water. Purapool is using the base components of water to purify itself, the perfect solution for non-chemical water treatment.
Copper Ionization:
The Purapool unit applies low amperage, low voltage power across the copper electrodes. This ionization process releases low residual levels, .3-.5 ppm, of ionic copper (CU++) in the water. This is responsible for bacteria and algae control. The NSF and EPA have recognized for many years the efficiency of copper as an excellent alternate sanitizer to chlorine. This process of adding low levels of this residual also satisfies the water's aggressiveness for metals. This results in balanced water that will not damage your pool pump or heat exchanger.In addition high frequency sonic waves produced from the electronic control panel and installed just outside the flow-cell eliminates parasites like Guardia and Cryptosporidium as water passes through the cell.
As opposed to Sodium chloride, the addition of Magnesium and Potassium minerals into the water is beneficial for your health and well being and is well documented worldwide. Magnesium Chloride absorbed through the skin is the most bio available form of Magnesium, essential for every cellular function in your body. This doubles as the basis of the residual
sanitizer in your pool.
Water Conditioning:
Through the process of oxidation and ionization the calcium crystals within the water is converted to its "soft form". This gives the swimmers the soft water feeling as though they are "swimming in silk". This process reduces the "bathtub ring" that many conventional pools and spas develop.
Chlorine is the basic chemical that sanitizes and oxidizes most pools in one form or another. However Ionization is safer and just as an effective sanitizer and not broken down by UV light. Purapool generates "activated oxygen", which oxidizes (shocks) the water to destroy any organics that have passed through the filter. The copper ions penetrate the outer shells of algae spores and bacteria to kill them. Any residual sanitizer helps by softening the outer surface of the organisms’ shell.
The Sand filter with a glass filtration media then removes dead algae, bacteria, dust, dirt, etc. from the water.
